AuschwitzTours.info is run by Poland Travel Tours, a licensed incoming tour operator based in Kraków, Poland. Since 2007 we have organised visits to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial for individual travellers, families, schools and groups from all over the world.

Why we created this site

Every year we receive many enquiries from travellers who want to visit Auschwitz-Birkenau but are staying far from Kraków: in Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Berlin, Warsaw and other cities. Planning such a trip is not easy. Entry to the Memorial must be booked in advance, guided tours are often sold out in the high season, and the journey can take several hours each way.

We created AuschwitzTours.info as a separate site devoted only to Auschwitz. It brings together our tours to the Memorial from different cities in one place, with clear information about travel times, booking and what to expect.

We also wanted the site to be a place to learn. Our blog publishes articles about the history of Auschwitz, the victims and the Holocaust, based on the research of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and Yad Vashem. We believe that a visit means more when you understand what happened there.

How we work

  • Every visit inside the Memorial is led by a licensed Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial educator.
  • We take care of transport, entry booking and timing, so you can focus on the visit itself.
  • Our drivers and tour leaders are experienced, and most of them have worked with us for many years.
  • We offer group tours from Kraków and private tours from other cities, tailored to your schedule.

Our approach

Auschwitz-Birkenau is a place of memory and the largest cemetery in the world without graves. We do not treat it as a tourist attraction. In our tours and articles we follow the terminology used by the Memorial and refer to it as the former German Nazi concentration and extermination camp, never a “Polish camp”.

We were picked up from our hotel in jelenia gora in a private, comfortable, modern van and were driven four hours to austwitz by our polite and friendly driver Michel. Our driver spoke very good English and we had a couple of stops for breaks on the way there and Back.
